Ebony

So, I have been navigating this thing called life for some time now and It wasn’t always easy.  I didn’t grow up with a silver spoon in my mouth but I was provided for by a great mother and father.  They taught me to be strong, independent, thoughtful, and caring.  I’m a middle child with two sisters, so I guess you can say I suffered from the middle child syndrome.  I was always doing things to prove I was the smartest, the quickest, the slickest.  I always kept people who were older than me in my circle because if you can’t teach me anything than what good are you for me?  So, I dated older men, hung with girls who were older than me and I always, always had my own everything.  I guess some people would say I am controlling but I just call it being in control.  I love to write poetry, read novels, and spend time with my daughter.  I struggled a lot as I was growing up in and out of trouble at home, with the law, at school.  Now I have a Master Degree, and I have been working at the same job for 18 years.  I am a landlord, own my home, car, I have a retirement account and I take a vacation at least once a year!  So, I guess you could say I am in control of my life and I am living it to the fullest!  Now I’m just waiting for my knight in shining armor to come wisp me away and marry me so we can live happily ever after (Oh yeah did I mention I was a hopeless romantic).
